Peace Posters

Lion Nancy Luckman-District Governor, Chairperson
Gasport Lions 2015 Peace Poster Winners!

The Gasport Lions have again sponsored the Peace Poster Contest in the Roy-Hart School District. This is part of a larger International contest aimed at encouraging peace from within our youth. The winner of this local contest, which is open to students 11 through 13 years old, was Marissa Scott.  Second Place winner was Amanda Hill and third place winner was Reanna Perkins.  Mr. John Fisgus, building principal, and Mr. Brad Scott, art teacher, at Roy-Hart Middle School supervises the contest each year. Each winner received a certificate of achievement and a check from the Gasport Lions Club. The theme of this year’s contest was “SHARE PEACE”.  Every Club is eligible to submit one poster. The winner from each Club goes on to be judged by the District which is comprised of 48 Clubs from Niagara and Erie Counties. From there that winner goes onto the State and finally International. There were several good entries this year and chair Lion Nancy Luckman explained that choosing 3 winners from this group was indeed difficult.
